We collect the following categories of information when you use ScholarBee:
We use the information described above only to operate and improve ScholarBee:
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing this service.
We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated page-view statistics (pages visited, referrer, country-level geolocation, and browser type). This data contains no personally identifiable information and cannot be linked back to your account. It is used solely to understand how the product is being used so we can improve it.
Question generation is powered by a third-party AI service. When you submit a topic or upload material, the content is transmitted to that service to produce the questions. This application does not retain uploaded files. We have no control over how the third-party service processes data on their end.
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google as part of the OAuth flow. We store only what is necessary to identify you (email and name) and to display your avatar. We do not request access to any other Google services or data.
Your account data, usage records, saved question sets, and plan information are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Monthly generation counts are tracked per calendar month and are not automatically purged.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Data is shared only with the infrastructure providers necessary to operate the service (Convex for database and backend, Vercel for hosting and analytics, Google for OAuth sign-in, and a third-party AI service for question generation). Each provider processes data only as directed by us and in accordance with their own privacy policies.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. You may also delete your account directly from the app settings, which will remove all stored data. If you are in the EU or EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
ScholarBee is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of ScholarBee after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For significant changes we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users.
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please reach out via our support page.
